POETRY COMPETITION

To help us celebrate the opening of our brand new Tube Train Library, we would like all of the children to take part in an exciting poetry competition.

This years marks the 30th anniversary of ‘Poems on the Underground’, so we thought it would be a lovely idea for us to create our very own book of poems written by the children. Every child who enters the competition will have their poem published in our ‘Poems on the Tube’ book. We hope to have the book made in time for Christmas and it will be available to buy. The first copy will be signed by all the children and this will then be put on display in the new library.

COMPETITION RULES

The poem can be about anything

It must be no longer than one A4 page

You can add illustrations if you wish

Closing date: Monday 31st October 2016

We will be selecting some of the poems to be read during the Grand Opening Celebration of our new tube library on 1st November.

We have already spoken to the children in assembly about the competition and given them some helpful tips. You can also find some great ideas and support for writing poetry here:
