Chick Page
Welcome to Coopers Lane’s Incubation Project page.
On Tuesday 10th November, Aldenham Country Park in North London will be visiting our school to bring fertilised eggs. This is an exciting opportunity for our school to incubate and hatch chicks. We are all very excited.
You are welcome to visit the eggs or the chicks when they hatch. They will be kept in Knightsbridge class.
Aldenham Country Park Visit – Session 1
The children in years 3/4 were so excited when Aldenham Country Park arrived at Coopers Lane. As soon as they arrived they immediately set up the incubator so that it began to warm to the correct temperature. Then seven eggs were carefully placed inside. They then brought in a chicken and a duck for the children to meet. Some children had a chance to stroke the birds. We then had a compare and contrast talk about the differences in the birds and the children were asked to discuss why this would be.
